West end and the Panyani greek fest

ok i should post this up earlier but too busy in the last few wks..

winnie and i went for the annual Paniyiri greek fest at westend and it was AWESOME!

for those who dont know, Paniyiri is a super duper huge greek fest held every year at Musgrave park in West end.... 2 days of awesome food, dance and all things greek!! the food there as really awesome. it usually happens during mid-May each year.

QUT and the optometry legend

School has been as irritating as a hedgehog in a condom factory with all those busy assignment crap and patients almost everyday..

even still i feel i shd make time to share with the world our very own QUT optometry legend... PETER JIN

he is the extraordinary man who could actually do tonometry on himself, the man who lives in school and also owns his very own slit-lamp.

just a very brief history on this QUT legend...

he was from the northern part of china, i think near the mongolian borders there... his parents are both doctors..... he came over from New south wales after he failed his 2nd yr there... self claimed to be well-versed in chinese acupuncture

SSA bbq and the mahjong session

today we had our usual SSA BBQ!...this is the 7th time i went already!!.... every time i go i would think of the past ones and of course the ppl who are missing from the bbq this semester....

Year 4 optom students are like acting in Grey's anatomy... Everyone wants patients... EVERYONE WOULD SNATCH Patients!!... its like a world of animals out there!... and patients are our food of survival!...

this week has been crazy...1 st week back and i have no fucking idea how rusty i m towards all the stuff!! and THEY PUT US RIGHT OUT THERE IN THE WILD... treating patients with our crappy skills on our own!! exactly like those interns in Grey's anatomy... OK probably not interns as we are the 2nd lowest level of the food chain,, the third years are....

they got shout n scolded like no one's business from some fucking mean clinicians like DB (nickname DataBase) and SL ( nicknamed Slit Lamp)! not like we are much better... we are the bigger minions...

Last semester after exams i suddenly feel like using my true films instead of the normal C41 films .... Just to test out the effects with my Holga 135BC... those pictures with the faded sides i think are probably due to my attached Holga fisheye lens...

the films are fucking expensive to developed!!! 15 bucks to do in brisbane!!! fuck!!! i bought the film at about 5 to 6 bucks only!!! WTF.... in Singapore developing true films are cheaper at about 6 to 7 bucks...

after these pics , i really feel that B and W photos should reserve for something gloomy and solemn....or is it becoz i capture the gloominess of the graveyard ?! every photo i see i can sense the solemnness!
